Boat Ramp Warmies

Wide concrete ramp, holding jetty close to the ramp. Coins or credit card needed for parking. Cost: (12/05/2009) $15.00

Best ramp for trip to Yarra River and Maribyrnong River.

Caution: a good, sheltered safe ramp, good at all tide levels. But beware of turning to port too soon at the end of the left breakwater - the rocks continue under water for some 70 metres. Saw a boat holed there recently. Check the Google maps image to be sure. Also, coming back in can be a bit confusing if you're new and haven't taken a careful note of what's where when going out.

Location: Yarra River, Newport

Access: From West Gate Freeway (M1) to Williamstown (37) - Melbourne Rd, turn left on roundabout to North Rd and when road takes turn right 90deg to The Strand keep going straight ahead.
