Software components

Based on my experience writing clew, I can't help thinking that there's something right with the software world.

Clew is a meaningful piece of functionality. Yet, within a few hours, I was able to pull together the necessary components, glue them together and have the program work. PIL for image handling, Twisted for the GPS protocol, NumArray to solve for and apply affine transforms; The Gimp to prepare the maps, GQview to display them.

Perhaps software components are here, and we've just been too wrapped up in ourselves to notice.
