In Tolkien's creation myth, Middle Earth came into being through Ainulindalë, which means Angelsong more or less. The Ainur sang in the Timeless Halls, and Eru gave reality to their song.
In the Transactional Interpretation, the universe is a giant resonance box. God built it, then plucked the string; that one chord, rich, varied, beautiful, is the entirety of creation, all of space and time. Where it resonates, we see particles, waves, interactions; where it is silent, we see void. Like Ainulindalë, the creation is atemporal, outside time; it can be said neither to precede, nor to follow. Yet it is not pre-destined: many different resonances are possible, but not all come to pass.
Harmony. Poetic cosmology.
