Extinguishing fair use

Keyword: DRM

DRM has no effect on piracy; it does, however, significantly impede fair use.

Muzzy quotes a description from the authors of XCP claiming that "XCP offers a comparatively high level of protection against casual piracy".

Now, what is "casual piracy"? It would seem it's an expression used by the recording industry to mean (and vilify) "fair use".

See for instance DRM and ‘casual piracy’.
