Microsoft's Masterpiece of FUD (via Groklaw news picks) This, then, is Microsoft's FUD masterstroke: by focusing attention squarely on the overall costs to society, and redefining them as "cascading economic benefits", it has finally managed to come up with a way of looking at things where free software is always inferior.

One of the commenters jokingly referred to this as "Parable of the broken Windows".

Windows Vista will cost Europe $40 billion, according to Microsoft, and it'll take a 100,000 extra people to deal with the fall-out. The EU would be a fool to pass this up!
