A couple of quick thoughts while reading Charlie Stross's USENIX keynote and some of the comments thereon...
- The usage of the word "prosthetics"... how does that work with self-incrimination rules? Can someone be compelled by court to hand over their medically-prescribed external memory prosthesis, or would that be self-incrimination? (For that matter, can today somebody be compelled to hand over their pace-maker logs?)
- Money... is outdated. The system arose within technological limitations that no longer apply, or at least not nearly in the same way. What will replace it? I don't know. Ripple provides a glimpse, but it's sadly crippled by using the word "$" in the narrative...
Anyway, just a couple of quick thoughts there, no refined theory.
